It doesn't have to be a difficult decision! The new Honda HR-V received a redesign for the latest model year, and we can't wait to share what it has to offer! Rivals like the Subaru Crosstrek and Mazda CX-3 provide plenty of features and conveniences to assist you on your daily drive or weekend getaway, but they can't compare to the new and improved Honda HR-V. We recommend taking a look at how the HR-V compares to its competition and explore why we prefer the Honda SUV above all others! Honda HR-V vs Subaru Crosstrek

Transmission: The new HR-V features a continuously variable transmission, offering a seamless shifting experience and provides an uninterrupted way of enjoying your drive. The Subaru Crosstrek does offer a similar transmission, equipping the Lineartronic® CVT. However, you don't get it on every model - the manual transmission requires you to focus more on your drive.

Infotainment System: The Honda HR-V isn't new to touchscreens, but previous models weren't standard with that feature. The new model now comes with a seven-inch touchscreen and Apple CarPlay®/Android Auto™ smartphone connectivity standard, allowing you to enjoy your music and apps on the road. The Subaru Crosstrek also offers a touchscreen with smartphone integration, but it only comes standard with a 6.5-inch screen. The HR-V can also upgrade to a nine-inch touchscreen and wireless integration - you won't get this option on the Crosstrek.

Safety Features: The new Honda HR-V is now standard with Honda Sensing®, a driver assistance suite that employs numerous features for a safe and secure driving experience. You'll be protected with a Lane Keeping Assist System, Traffic Jam Assist, and more at the base level. The Subaru Crosstrek offers EyeSight® Driver Assis Technology, but it won't come standard.

Honda HR-V vs Mazda CX-3

Cargo Capacity: Whether you're looking to take off on a family vacation or need a weekend alone in the wood, you need the right amount of cargo space to suit your gear. The Honda HR-V comes standard with 24.4 cubic feet behind the second row and 55.1 cubic feet when the second row is flat. The Mazda CX-3 isn't nearly as spacious, only offering 17.8 cubic feet behind the second row and a maximum of 42.7 cubic feet - you can't bring everything with you.

Passenger Space: Buying an SUV should mean that you get the space to accommodate your passengers without feeling like you're shoving people into a tight space. Thankfully, that won't be a problem with the Honda HR-V. This SUV offers 98.7 cubic feet of passenger space with plenty of legroom in either row to help you stretch out comfortably. The Mazda CX-3 isn't nearly as spacious - it only provides 87.6 cubic feet of interior cabin space.

Safety Features: Both lineups offer similar safety packages, providing you with peace of mind for your travels. The Honda HR-V comes standard with Honda Sensing®, a package that includes adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, and more! While the Mazda CX-3 does include standard automated emergency braking, you won't get the same offered features found in the new HR-V lineup.
